We are a local wood-fire coffee roastery. When we learned that the majority of all coffee beans in the world were roasted using petroleum based heat, we decided to find a better way. This focused exploration led us to discover a far more heathy and flavorful way to roast. We designed and hand-built a one of a kind roaster that uses select hardwoods. This makes BoRo one of only a handful of committed roasters in the U.S. using this ancient and proven method. Hardwoods produce a gentler, moister heat allowing the oils and flavors to develop at a slower rate. This eliminates the bitter aftertaste that can overpower a quality bean.
